As I said in the board posting the big thing with ordering a partially finished stock from an outfit like Richards is knowing what action will fit , in our case the model 10 short action is exact as well as the mounting screw holes. I ordered a 1" barrel channel cut to fit the large muzzleloading barrel and didn't have to modify that at all, with that I thought that a varmint forearm would beef up the excess material removed for the 1"barrel, then I requested that magazine not be cut out since it wasn't required anyway and I figured it would maintain weight.
There are a variety of styles and materials to choose from I tend to favor
the laminate and I particularly liked the camo. Remember the stock is 96%
inletted and unfinished. The first thing to do is fit the action this is easily
done by wrapping sandpaper around a dowel the same diameter as the action
about an inch and a quarter.
